From the Pastor’s Desk Dear Saint,
I pray that you are continuously reaping the unsearchable riches of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. God has BLESSED us to progress into yet another month and for this I am THANKFUL. We have to learn to be thankful not just for the material things, but for the little things as well; being able to inhale & exhale, having the activity of our limbs, and most of all being ALIVE. So often it seems that life is only made up of things to worry about. Life has many disappointments for all of us…death, illnesses, betrayals, tragedies, and feelings of worthlessness and despair. Sometimes life can seem so very grim, and so many times we tend to wallow in pools of self-pity. But even when we’re going through the sad times, the feelings of despair and self-pity, we must GIVE THANKS. When you give thanks even when you’re going through you’re speaking to that situation and saying, “Even though I’m going through this situation I’m not going to give up because I know God is on my side”. We have to experience sadness so that we may better measure joy. Life has a way of balancing the sorrow with the joy, the disappointments with hope, and the emptiness with meaning. So remember IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS!!!! I look forward to seeing you in our next worship service. Remember TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!!! Yours in Christ, Bishop J. Wayne Leggett |
